The illustration on the left is an example of research and analysis for decision support for a pipeline route investigation.

It includes geotechnical assessments along the route corridor and an optimal cost-path analysis to evaluate different routes for the pipeline based on a number of factors.

Each component is adjusted to calibrate and weight the model. The model components can have different criteria depending on their relative importance and according to the clients requirements.

In calibrating and weighting these models we use an analytical hierarchy process to rank decision alternatives to a given criteria.
